Employee Assistance Program
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides access for employees and their eligible immediate family to professional counselling services, funded by their employer. The providers of these services are all experienced psychologists and the service is completely confidential. EAP services are established through a service agreement contract between an employer and ORS.
Our experienced psychologists are able to provide evidenced-based therapy due to their extensive training and qualifications, wide range of experiences, and our internal professional development program. Short-term counselling funded by the employer and provided to employees of a contracted organisation, for the purpose of supporting employees and eligible immediate family members with personal and/or work-related challenges that may impact job performance, health, mental and emotional wellbeing.
Additional services may also include mediation, conflict resolution, coaching and training workshops.

Why would I use this service as an employee?
Personal and work-related issues can affect all areas of our life, including our sense of self, our sense of being in control, the quality of our relationships, our home life, our work life, our sleeping and eating patterns, and our physical and emotional health. Our psychologists can provide a neutral listening ear and also suggest evidence-based strategies to help with work and life issues.
What are some of the common presenting issues addressed by EAP services?
Conflicts or difficulties at work or home, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem/confidence issues, grief and loss, alcohol and/or drug related concerns, and career/employment considerations are some of the common issues discussed with an EAP counselling psychologist.
How do I make an appointment?
Making an appointment is easy. Contact your employer’s HR services to obtain the dedicated ORS EAP services number, use the EAP wallet contact card / EAP pamphlet provided to you by your employer or access the ORS EAP PORTAL to make contact and we will arrange an appointment time for you. What if it’s an emergency?
Sometimes things happen in a sudden and unexpected manner. A 24-hour telephone counselling service is available to assist you. If needed, a face-to-face appointment will also be made as soon as possible.
Where can you provide services?
Face-to-face counselling is provided at one our offices. Permission to attend counselling during work time is at the discretion of your organisation, however, unless urgent or work-related, counselling is usually conducted in your own time. Phone and video conference counselling services are also available.
What about confidentiality?
Counselling sessions are 100% confidential and will not be disclosed to your organisation or any person within your organisation unless your written authorisation is given.
