About Me
Erin has extensive experience in working with children and young people in both educational and therapeutic settings. More recently, Erin has been primarily supporting individuals who are residing in out-of-home care, experiencing family violence or working through childhood trauma. She has a deep understanding and knowledge of how to support individuals who have experienced trauma, in particular family violence. This is inclusive of training individuals' support networks on how best to support them. Erin strongly believes that all individuals, regardless of age are entitled to a caring, safe and supportive environment. Erin has a particular interest in play therapy, believing that through the use of play we can instil a love of lifelong learning while improving memory and overall quality of life. Erin is a strong advocate for her clients and is passionate about ensuring that all individuals, regardless of ability, have their voices heard and are provided with sound foundational skills to help them succeed. Erin enjoys research and teaching and is a co-author of a published journal article that supported the norming Australian English Language tool which is now used nationally. Erin regularly advocates for children with disability and is an active participant in Early Childhood Education to support educators in continued understanding, inclusion and strategies to support emotional literacy and regulation.
