About Me
Imogen has a background in applied behaviour analysis (ABA) therapy, gaining education and training in positive learning for children with autism. Imogen has over three years of experience working as an independent support worker with clients diagnosed with autism, intellectual disability, congenital blindness, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, major depression, and bipolar disorder aged from 5 to 38 years. In this role, Imogen attended psychology, speech pathology, physiotherapy and occupational therapy appointments with her clients. Working closely with their specialists to extend her knowledge and skills in implementing the prescribed homework and exercises outside of consultations. In the past ten years, Imogen has lived and studied for her Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) in Melbourne, Victoria. Imogen has always found teaching and supporting others, particularly young children, incredibly rewarding. During her school years, Imogen would assist the younger dancers at her academy, volunteer as a teacher's aide on school holidays and regularly engage with her younger next-door neighbours. Imogen is able to form strong relationships with clients, families and care teams, including other health professionals. Imogen is patient, empathetic and polite with people of all ages, from diverse backgrounds and is an LGBTIQA+ aware and affirmative therapist. Imogen draws on a number of therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness. Imogen works with a wide range of presenting issues and tailors her approach to each client based on their individual needs and preferences. Imogen works with individuals and families from as early as 5 years through to adulthood.
